Movies on Main 2026: Islip's New Free Indoor Movie Nights

The Town of Islip has added a movie series that does not care what the sky is doing. Movies on Main happens indoors, in the auditorium at 401 Main Street in Islip, and admission is free. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the movie starts at 6:30 PM, per the town's official announcement.

Friday Night Flicks

The main run is one Friday a month through the end of the year.

• Friday, September 4 - West Side Story
• Friday, October 2 - Edward Scissorhands
• Friday, November 6 - The Six Triple Eight
• Friday, December 4 - Santa Claus: The Movie (the 1985 one)

School's Out Movie Night

• Tuesday, December 29 - Dr. Doolittle. Same room, same 6:00 PM doors and 6:30 PM start, dropped into the week the kids are off from school.

What to know before you go

• Admission is free at every screening. It is an indoor auditorium, so there is no chair or blanket to pack.
• Doors at 6:00 PM, movie at 6:30 PM. The half hour is worth using if you want your pick of the seats.
• No food or drinks are permitted in the auditorium.
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
