These terms cover your use of southshoredigest.com and every subdomain we run, including our weekend guide, join, and guides sites, plus the newsletter itself. The site is published by AF Mello Solutions Inc, a New York corporation doing business as South Shore Digest. By using the site or subscribing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Reading the site and subscribing to the Thursday issue cost nothing today. We do not charge readers for access to what is published here.
Everything we run is an editorial pick. We are not a ticket seller, a promoter, or an official calendar for any town, venue, or organization.
Event information starts with the venue, the organizer, the library, or the ticket seller. An editor reads and checks every listing before it runs, but details change after we publish. Dates move, bands cancel, rain dates kick in, prices change, and tickets sell out.
Confirm with the venue before you make the drive. We are not responsible for an event that changed, was cancelled, or turned out different from what the organizer told the public.
We link out constantly, to venue pages, ticket sellers, and organizer posts. We do not run those sites and we do not control what they do with your money or your information. Your dealings with them, including any purchase, are between you and them. Read their own terms and privacy policies.
The writing, photographs, illustrations, layout, logo, and name of South Shore Digest belong to us or are used with permission. You get a limited, personal, non-commercial license to read our pages and forward an issue to a friend.
Please do not republish our writing, reprint an issue, or reuse our photos without asking. Most of the time the answer is yes, with credit and a link. Just ask first at support@southshoredigest.com.
If you believe something we published infringes your copyright, send the details to support@southshoredigest.com and we will look at it right away and take down anything we should not have run.
Use the site the way it is meant to be used. Do not scrape it or harvest our listings in bulk, whether by hand or by script. Do not use our referral links or our name to send spam. Do not impersonate South Shore Digest, our editor, or another subscriber. Do not upload anything malicious or try to get into systems you are not meant to reach.
We can cut off access, remove a subscriber, or void referral credit if any of that happens.
Our referral program has its own terms, which apply on top of these. See our referral terms.
We sell sponsored placements and paid directory listings. Every one of them is labeled "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" at the top of the placement, and paid directory listings are labeled as paid.
Sponsors do not choose or influence our editorial picks. Paying us does not get a business into Top 5, Family Picks, Date Night, Free and Affordable, Community Board, or Fresh Local Highlights. Our editorial policy page spells this out in full.
The site and the newsletter are provided as is. To the fullest extent New York law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of mistakes, and we do not warrant any third party event, business, or product we write about.
To the fullest extent New York law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including a wasted trip, a cancelled event, or a purchase that did not work out. Our total liability for any claim connected to the site or the newsletter will not exceed $100. Some limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in Suffolk County, New York, and you agree to that venue.
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. Using the site after that means you accept the new version. If one part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
